New 'Pretty Little Liars' x Aeropostale!

Pretty Little Liars has been on hiatus since March, but it's back tomorrow. To coincide with its ~dramatic~ return, Aeropostale has launched the second collection in their PLL collaboration. The pieces hit stores yesterday and were designed by Mandi Line, the show's costume designer (also the costume designer on Faking It!). We chatted with her about the new collection, which character's style she likes the best, and whether to expect more pieces in the future.
MTV STYLE: How would you describe the overall style on Pretty Little Liars?
MANDI LINE: The overall style is fun, unique, obtainable, and wild. You never know what to expect.
How do the clothes in this collection fit with each character?
I did my best to make sure that the collection, which is for the fans, was as iconic as possible. Who wants stuff they can buy anywhere, any day?
How do they differ from the first Pretty Little Liars x Aeropostale collection you did?
I don't think they differ much more than the fact that they're for another season. These collections just keep getting more PLL! There's more jewelry and more T-shirts.
Which character is easiest to design for?
I would say Aria. Her pieces just come second nature to me. She is everything I wanted to be but never got to.

Who is the most difficult?
They all come so naturally to me now, to be honest—it's never hard. I think it gets tough sometimes turning Shay Mitchell into Emily—she [Shay] is a glamazon and that can't be denied!

What’s your favorite piece from the collection?
My favorite, I have to say, is the dress from Hanna's collection. You can pair it with boots, heels, a jean jacket, or a moto jacket. It may be super girly but it's also very versatile.

Can we expect more PLL x Aeropostale in the future?
Yes, you can expect more. We have three more collections dropping throughout the fall, and there will definitely be more iconic PLL looks. Keep your eyes out for them!
