Whatever Beth Ditto's secret is for having so much energy, we want it...now. Seriously, the Gossip frontwoman has been making MAJOR moves lately, first rocking bedazzled eyebrows in the band's mod-inspired music video, and now talking about dream clothing collabs with New York Magazine. The musician has already worked on a fashion line before, with the U.K. company Evans, but, as she tells NYMag, there were logistical problems turning her designs around fast enough. Instead of partnering with a larger brand, Ditto admits she wants to do her own thing: "I really want to do my own line that’s ethically made, and I can do whatever the f*** I want with it." Um, her very own clothing line? Talk about a no-brainer. Especially given Ditto's love for sequins, sparkles, and all kinds of minidresses, we can't really think of anything better.
In her ideal world, Ditto says that she'd create an online vintage store with a "Buy The Look" feature where girls (and guys) can score entire outfits in a click. According to the singer, "I want to make the IKEA of clothes for fat girls and boys. Cheap, affordable, basic — but ethically made." And although she tells the magazine that she wants to start with basics like Spanx, fingers crossed she'll branch out into crushed velvet dresses
, sparkle tops, and crazy high-fashion outfits like the ones she wore on the Jean-Paul Gaultier runway. Hey, we can dream, can't we? Someone get this girl a clothing label ASAP! In the meantime, peep the article here.
